Employee Ownership Consultant Emily Alston from Baxendale joins this week’s episode, discussing her experiences with business transition. Baxendale itself is an employee owned business, being owned by a trust for employee benefit as of 1983. Specialising in business advisory and the transition into employee ownership, Emily’s role focuses on supporting employee-owned businesses post-transition.

Emily’s initial exposure to ESOPs occurred whilst she was Director of SME Mike Stoane Lighting in Edinburgh. As Project Manager, she oversaw the transition to employee ownership, ensuring a seamless transition and working with employee-owners post-transition. Shortly after, she became a Board Member of The Employee Ownership Association (EOA). Emily has continued work with the EOA since joining Baxendale, allowing the extension of her expertise in employee ownership, especially with employee owned businesses.
